Boy Caught Paying The Sweetest Visit To Neighbor's 'Misunderstood' Cat

That's not how you'd think most parents would describe their kids, but that's exactly what Norma Maikovich said of her sweet little fur baby, a cute black and white kitty she named Ace.

Of course, Norma doesn't really think that Ace is any less cute and cuddly than all the other cats in the neighborhood, but sadly this "cyclops kitty" is misunderstood by practically everyone he meets.

Ace and his feline brother, Ramsey, came to their forever home when they were kittens. Norma Maikovich, a former US Army Veterinary Technician, learned about their plight from her husband. "He said that they were special needs, but that he knew we'd be able to give them a loving home," Norma told.

The kittens were born to a stray cat and found in a dumpster. They lost their eyes due to the rough life in the outdoors. Ace can see just fine with his one eye, whereas his brother is partially blind.

"They were always meant to be a pair, since Ace has his left eye and Ramsey has his right. Together they complete each other," Norma said. "The only time they are apart is when Ace is out exploring the front porch."

People are often hesitant to greet him.

Ace is very adventurous and isn't afraid of anything. The driveway is his "kingdom" and he likes basking in the sun on the front porch, watching the world go by. "He never strays further than that, and he's happy and content with this."

With Ace only having one eye, sometimes he can be misunderstood. "People are often hesitant to greet him, but once they do, they quickly find out how sweet he is.

Lately, the family noticed everyone from the neighborhood seemed to know him. They decided to investigate their cat's sudden fame by checking their security cameras, hoping to find a clue.

And as a precaution, Norma decided to setup a home security camera system to keep tabs on him and make sure that he wasn't being bullied.

Little did she know that the camera was about to catch an encounter with a boy on a bike who seemed to be making regular pit stops at her house to visit with the cute and cuddly cat.

At the start of the video, we can see a young boy hop off his bicycle and plop himself down onto the ground at the end of Norma's driveway.

The boy's unusual actions didn't seem to scare Ace, who seemed to know exactly who he was and why he was there. Ace pops into view and begins rolling around on the ground, which let the boy know that it was time for them to play!

"It melted our hearts, not just seeing how much Ace loves this boy, but how familiar they were to each other! Sitting by the front door, as soon as Ace sees his friend, he rushes out to greet him. It's awesome, this bond they share.”

As the video continues, the cheerful little kitty playfully continues to roll around on his back while the boy reaches out to scruff his belly.

Ace seems to be so comfortable around his new companion that he doesn't even hesitate to curl up in his arms for a sweet hug!“A friend of Ace's is a friend of ours. Once we realized that they were fast friends, it made us really happy.”

It seems to be making Ace one happy kitty, too! Once Norma realized that the boy didn't mean any harm, she let him know that he didn't have to "sneak" onto their driveway and he could play with Ace anytime he felt like it!

“Ace isn a scary guy, and it just goes to show that appearances aren everything. Seeing the footage of Ace and his buddy really proves that when given the chance of life and love and a family, animals with special needs and handicaps are worth it too.”

Norma feels that everyone deserves a chance at being loved, which is why she adopted another special needs cat named Ramsey. Like his fur-brother Ace, he's also blind in one eye, but as a team they're more than twice as adorable!
